You Won't Have Raymaker To Kick Around

I feel strongly that it's important to be honest and open with Canadians. Today I would like to end the rampant speculation that has gripped the national media for ... hours. After much reflection, I will not be a candidate for the leadership of the Liberal Party of Canada.

I have consulted with dozens of stakeholders, my legions of supporters from coast to coast to coast, and, most importantly, my family. I am deeply moved by the overwhelming enthusiasm for my candidacy. But, at the end of the day, I have determined that I can serve my country better in other ways.

I have instructed the Draft Raymaker committee to disband and urged their members to work hard for the candidate who best reflects their values and hopes for renewal of the Liberal Party of Canada.

Word Up, Yo!

Actually, when you consider the Liberal Party's debt situation, a patronage pig like you might have been one of their better prospects, a self-described "216 lbs of depraved indifference, bred in Calgary, grazing in Toronto". Most of the bruited major candidates like Frank McKenna are going to loose interest fast when their handlers take a look at the financial landscape.

Say, when you're in Vancouver, do you go drinking with Bill Cunningham and Erik "Spiderman" Bornman?

Derek -

You realize, of course, that this throws the NDP's careful strategic planning for the coming months into complete disarray. On behalf of my colleagues, I urge you to reconsider.

Damn !

Rayman

I was getting a whole bunch of recently unemployed campaign strategists to met with us at the Regal Constellation Hotel near Pearson Airport...

I guess, I will have to cancel the meeting ;-)

Anyway, it's for the best, you get what you pay for, they call themselves "the board" and they didn't do all that well in the most recent election.

Derek, your tendency to mince words and equivocate would have doomed your candidacy in any event.
